Eligibility

- Adults (18 to 64)*
- At least 18 years old and not eligible to receive an Old Age Security pension
- Live in Alberta and are Canadian citizen or permanent resident
- Not in correctional facility or mental health facilities
- Have a medical condition that is likely to remain permanent
- The medical condition is one that substantially limits the ability to earn a living
- Meet financial eligibility criteria (as presented on the website)
What Devices are Covered?
- Arch supports and foot orthotics
- Canes and crutches
- Hearing aid batteries
- Splints and braces
- Specialized clothing adapted for a disability
- Medical alert services
- Medical alert equipment not available through the Aids to Daily Living program or other sources
- Medical supplies not available from the Aids to Daily Living program or other services
- Other health-related equipment
What Services are Available?
- Funds equipment maintenance for wheelchairs and scooters
- Aid in covering costs for health-related equipment and supports
Procedure for Getting Access
- Completion and submission of the AISH Application form
- A medical report may need to be completed by a health care professional
