Eligibility
- Programs where all ages are eligible
- Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis
- Diagnosis of amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS)
- Registered with ALS Society of BC
- Reside in BC or Yukon
- Must have a valid Provincial Health Care Number
What Devices are Covered?
- Mobility equipment
- Lifts
- Bedroom equipment
- Bathroom aid
- Communication devices
- Advanced technology including: hydraulic office chairs, smart lights, robot spoons, robotic arm, Google home, and Chromecast
What Services are Available?
- Free delivery and return of all loaned equipment
- Repair is also at no cost to the client
Procedure for Getting Access
- Communication devices: equipment must be prescribed by a qualified healthcare professional (i.e. Speech-Language Pathologist) or an Occupational Therapist or Family Physician in a rural area
- Bathroom aids, lifts, mobility, miscellaneous, beds and mattresses: equipment must be prescribed by a qualified health care professional (i.e. Occupational Therapist, Physiotherapist) or a family physician in a rural area with limited resources
